If you want a see of the best of Canon’s mirrorless cameras, take a look at the Canon EOS R3 – it may look like a DSLR from a decade old ago, but it’s one of the most advanced sports and wildlife animal cameras ever build inside.

But Canon has not redesigned its old technology with the EOS R3. It is the host of new technologies, especially the new 24.1MP rear-illuminated stack CMOS sensor.

The stacked design of this sensor is more apex than Sony cameras like the Sony A1, giving the R3 a 30fps raw burst shoot and a purring photo engine capable of producing a minimal rolling shutter on video.

Unusually for a pro sports camera, the EOS R3 also packs 6K raw video capture internally and video conferencing such as a featured touch screen. Canon’s SLRs even have a modern version of the ‘Eye Control AF’ system we saw in the 1990s, allowing you to select focusing points only in the viewfinder.

But is this collection of rare talents a great camera or a somewhat confusing one? For pro photographers, it will no doubt be the first. If you’re a paid snapper, knowing that the EOS R3 is there will be bad for your bank balance. After all, because of its automatic focus, its continuous shooting speed, or its low-light capabilities – it’s hard to justify shooting anything other than a camera shot.

The price of the Canon EOS R3 is definitely less attractive. This is the latest generation technology and Canon knows it, which is why if you decide to get one you will be separated by a solid finish like $ 6,000 / 6,000 / AU $ 9,000.
