Gigabyte Aorus 15P YD review
If you’re looking for a gaming laptop that packs a real punch and you don’t care much about anything else, check out Gigabyte Aorus 15PYD.
Gigabyte has a habit of making gaming laptops more visible at home in 2015 than our current schedule, which remains unchanged with the Aorus 15P Wi-Fi. This is definitely not a bad thing, especially if you like the more or less ‘blanchy’ look on your hardware, but it will not win in beauty contests with rival products like Alienware M17R4.
If you are not interested in aesthetics, in terms of performance, the Aorus 15P YD is more than enough to satisfy it. Our review model packs Intel i7-11800H, 32GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, making it one of the closest desktop replacements we’ve ever seen on a portable device.
Here is the Gigabyte Aorus 15P YD configuration sent to TechRadar for review:

3DMark: Night Raid: 45, 386; Fire Strike: 22,721; Time Spy: 9,102
Cinebench R20: 5,138 points
GeekBench 5: (single-core) 1,574 (multi-core) 7,800

PCMark 10 Battery Life: 3 hours 11 minutes
Battery Life (TechRadar movie test): 3 hours 47 minutes
Total War: Three Kingdoms (1080p, Ultra): 112 fps; (1080p, Low): 174 fps
Metro Exodus (1080p, Ultra): 71 fps; (1080p, Low): 105 fps
The small critiques we have by the standards of the Laptop gameplay are not unique, so if you are already concerned about things like battery life and webcam performance you will not have to worry about how the Aeros 15P Wii will perform. After all, since this is a sports laptop, you are not going to play with an energy source and squeeze the entire day’s game time.
Naming its gaming laptop elsewhere does not prevent you from using that raw power, especially because of its powerful components, making it a viable option for those with graphical needs such as VFX artists and video editors.
A somewhat humble design in a public environment, such as an office or lecture hall, can be a blessing in disguise, or if you enjoy a look that doesn’t shout “Hey world, I’m an athlete”. RGB Light is largely limited to the keyboard, which can be completely deactivated or stopped, while other gigabyte gaming laptops, such as the Aorus 17G, may have an impressive mechanical keyboard, but your colleagues and friends will appreciate the lack. The sound of distraction.
In general, the gigabyte removed it from the park again. If you can find out the price, buying an Aorus 15P Wi-Fi will give you one of the best gaming laptops on the market, and you’re happy to get more money for some terminals to fix things like webcam and audio quality. Team down.
Price and availability
Gigabyte Aorus 15P YD Laptop
Our review unit has YD specifications and there are other settings called Aorus 15P that can be identified by the last two letters of the laptop position. For example, the Gigabyte Aorus 15P KD model comes with a 240Hz display, RTX 3060 GPU, 16GB RAM and 512GB NVMSSSD, while the Aroos 15P XD 300Hz variant, 16GB RAM
The other two models are rare, but we found that the YD model is available at most global tech retail sites. This is definitely not a cheap laptop, but considering the hardware you get, we do not think it’s expensive, even though it’s quite out of budget.
There are cheap gaming laptops on the market if you are limited in price, but you may not get the powerful RTX 3080 GPU or 32GB RAM. Our suggestions are Asus TUF Dash F15 or Asus ROG Zephyrus G15.
The Gigabyte Aorus 15PYD’s design has no bells or whistles and plays relatively safe. There is a standard RGB light that comes out of a standard gigabyte style box, but it shines in blinding brightness but is limited to the keyboard and can be turned off when needed. The chassis is quite boxy and has none of the features attributed to the ‘retro’ look we mentioned earlier.
It’s not inherently ugly, but there are definitely some gaming laptops on the market that can do both. If you need a unitary device for study or work as well as gambling, the more traditional design of the Aorus 15P is more suitable. It weighs 5.25 pounds / 2.38 kg and measures 14 x 9.6 x 1.06 inches / 357 x 244 x 27 mm. Not particularly thin or light but you have no problem walking with it in a hammer or bag.
One of the advantages of such a solid structure is the resulting build quality. Keyboard The dashboard is generally flexible when pressed on laptops, but the Aorus 15P YD does not offer much. The hips also feel very strong so we do not advise throwing it away and this feels like a gaming laptop that can be handled tightly.
As a trick, the trackpad is a bit standard for a gaming laptop, and the assumption is that you are using a gaming mouse or game controller, so it could serve well and be responsive, but there was no real grain and there was room for large and medium. The mechanical style appeal of the Gigabyte Aorus 17G is not without its upgrades on the RGB background keyboard, but it manages to squeeze a numpad. The result is a bit narrower, but once you get used to the layout it feels like the keys are touching.
On the left side of the chassis you can see the dedicated HDMI, portable display, USB Type-A port, 3.5mm headphone jack and Ethernet jack. On the right you will find two additional USB Type-A ports, a Thunderbolt 4 / USB-C port, and a full-size SD card so you do not need to mount your external monitors and terminals. . The built-in SD card reader is great for design professionals, so you do not need to have a separate adapter or dongle.
The speakers are located at the top of the foot and near the tip. The audio quality sounds great if there is a little light on the bass, but if you are not an audio listener this will not be noticeable enough to bother you. If you want a better experience while playing sports or watching the media, we strongly recommend that you purchase a dedicated speaker or use a high quality gaming headset.
The 240Hz display is truly a treat and certainly helps to make it a viable replacement for a Gigabyte Oras 15P Wi-Fi desktop. Any professional player or regular visitor to the game will appreciate this laptop as a perfect LAN party laptop paired with several fast internal devices and a fast display. Sports Butter ran smoothly, and we did not rank the players in any of the Sports League, and the 144Hz boost typically found on gaming laptops will give you a real dot if you have the ability to take advantage of the high refresh rate.
We have virtually no criticism of the functionality of the Gigabyte Oras 15PYD. Everything we threw at it was handled and it was to be expected from such an impressive specification.
The model we reviewed comes with the RTX 3080 laptop GPU, the most powerful gaming GPU you currently have in a laptop, and the combination of 32GB RAM and Intel i7-11800H makes this a powerful Creeida laptop.
The benchmark result is surprisingly good. 3DMark’s laptops received 45,386 on Night Raid, 22,721 on Firestrike, and 9,012 on Time Espionage, and therefore some of those respectable tests, so it has the ROG Sapphire G15 (Night Raid: 43,645), 21: 11 Attacks: / Time Spy: 9,333).
Above our usual benchmarks, we played a few rounds of rust and found that the loading screens, which are usually tiring, were almost non-existent. You can expect to easily play the newly released AAA titles by hitting the Cyberpunk 2077 70 FPS with maximum settings up to Ultra.
The battery life of the Gigabyte Oras 15PYD is inconsistent, and despite tough tests, we still get inconsistent results. Our standard PCMark 10 battery test managed a difficult initial 1 hour 13 minutes, and after checking that everything was correct we tested again and the results changed to 3 hours 56 minutes. Three tests returned with similar results, giving us an average of 3 hours and 11 minutes, but we were unable to determine the cause of the variance.
Our movie testing was more consistent, taking an average of 3 hours and 47 minutes, and the actual gameplay battery life varied depending on how much the app demanded, but was generally able to cross the three hour limit.
This is not dangerous for a gaming device, and being able to play for hours away from a power source may not be as realistic as any gamble-optimized laptop, but you can squeeze a little more life out of devices like the razor. Blade Pro 17 If you want to maximize the time you spend away from a power plant.
