The pulsar GL66 has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080p, and while this is not the sharpest resolution to be had, it’s pretty much the gaming standard for the great cheap gaming laptops to the better midrange gaming laptops at the moment. The pulse GL66 functions with hi-Res audio reproduction capabilities coupled with Nahimic’s “in-game 3D surround sound” consistent with MSI. The heartbeat GL66 does reproduce audio with excellent first-rate if you’re listening along with your headset or connected to an external audio system. Headset audio output is excellent, but the laptop’s integrated speakers are average at best, although they’re excellent for things like video conferencing etc.

Overall, the MSI Pulse GL66 (2022) is a best speed and performance for a gaming laptop. It has strong processing capabilities and easily accepts peripherals like monitors, gaming mice, and audio systems. It can get a little noisy whilst gaming because the cooling fans kick in, and it is quite heavy to carry around if you’re on the go, but a narrow-shaped component on a gaming laptop is a completely top-class feature nowadays. so this is an inevitable tradeoff for a value item. We want the battery life to be higher, but the Pulse GL66 remains a solid device, particularly for those on a tighter budget.

MSI Pulse GL66 Price in 2022

The MSI Pulse GL66 is a great gaming laptop for the money, and it performed well on our performance benchmarks. However, it does have some small problems worth considering. At a starting price of $1,598, it’s an excellent choice for gaming. However, there are probably a few higher picks in the marketplace when you have the cash to spare.

However, for its cutting-edge price, the pulse GL66 offers a fairly stable price, which we’re pleased to see MSI correct from the model in our MSI Pulse GL66 evaluation from last year. If you are looking for great mobile workstations for growing content, you can wait for prices on quality 4K laptops to come down, but if you want to play today’s games right away, the heartbeat GL66 should be on your shortlist.

MSI Pulse GL66 : Design

The MSI Pulse GL66 gaming laptop sports a plastic and aluminum chassis designed by renowned Belgian artist Maarten Verhoeven and is generally attractive to look at while housing all of the components very well. There is adequate ventilation running via the vents on the left face, back, and underside of the computer. There may be an almost full-size keyboard built into the pulse GL66, and the keyboard has integrated single-zone RGB lighting into the keyboard, so that is terrific in low-light environments.

There could be people who grumble about the “softness” of the keys, but we’ve had no problem. There may be no tactile “bump” that a few individuals would like, but the keys are soft, quiet, and work excellently. The screen measures 15.6 inches with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, and the screen’s thin bezels allow for an excellent display screen-to-body ratio. At a weight of about five pounds, the pulse GL66 is slightly cumbersome to carry around, but it is not the heaviest portable computer.

The Pulse GL66 comes with the MSI center utility, which allows you to program the keyboard’s RGB lighting, in addition to turning RGB lighting off. In case you’re into RGB lighting fixtures, you will be able to choose your keyboard color in addition to choosing different effects. While RGB lighting looks excellent, it’s a massive drain on the battery life, and the battery life for the pulse 66 isn’t superb (more on this later), so having control over this function is essential.

The pulse GL66 comes with 3 USB-A (2-USB 3.0/1-USB 2.0) ports, one USB-C port, an HDMI port, and an RJ-forty-five Ethernet port. This means that you may not have to succumb to the torture of finding dongles whenever you exit, but on the downside, the USB-C port does not support power transfer or video. The HDMI port is the only video port, but it can still power a 4K display at 60 frames per second.

The heartbeat 66 comes with the MSI center and MSI APP participant applications preinstalled, but in any other case, has fairly minimal bloatware. The computer has a narrow 150W power supply to round out the bundle. Overall, your standard features are all included. The MSI Pulse GL66 Gaming PC is a good laptop for gaming. There are some issues that appear to be complicated.

The display screen’s 1080p resolution works best and the HDMI port displays [email protected], but it’d have been nice to see MSI upgrade the USB-C port to an actual Thunderbolt port or, as a minimum, enable video support at the USB- C port.

The model that we tested had a single USB-C port that did no longer support video. Considering that users regularly use a video port to display the desktop on a larger display screen, the lack of a 2D video port definitely stands out. It’d not be too tough to incorporate a Thunderbolt port given the size of the computer.
